Says “Windows” Trademark Value Must Not Be Diluted

Glaze, ID (ABC Wireservice)—June 15, 2001 ­ Computer Software manufacturer Microsnot (MSNT) today announced that they have filed suit against Windows & Doors Manufacturing Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: GLASSY ­ news) over the use of Microsnot’s trademarked Windows.

Said company spokesperson, Iva Gotmine, “It has come to our attention that Windows & Doors has been using our trademarked “Windows” on goods that they sell. The Company is vigorously defending this assault on its trademark to
prevent consumer confusion between W & D’s old fashioned products and our state-of-the-art Windows system.”

Responded W & D spokesperson, Payne O. Glass, “This is ludicrous. Windows and Doors has been selling products under the “Windows” term since 1932. Microsnot’s entire management team wasn’t even born then!”

Contacted later, Gotmine replied, “That’s true, but W & D was only selling their so-called “windows” in Iowa through the 1950s before expanding to the entire U.S. I’m entirely confident that The Company will ultimately prevail in the courts.”
